Delhi CM oath-taking ceremony highlights: Delhi Cabinet decides to implement Ayushman Bharat, table 14 pending CAG reports

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday (February 20, 2025) said that the Cabinet had decided in its first meeting to implement the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, and also to table 14 pending Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) reports in the Delhi Assembly.

“Two main decisions have been taken. First, Ayushman Yojana, which was stalled by the earlier government and because of the AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) government, people of Delhi did not get it. Today’s first Cabinet meeting has taken a decision to implement Ayushman Bharat Yojana in Delhi with ₹5 lakh top-up from the Delhi government. Also, ₹5 lakh will be given by the Central government. It’ll be implemented as early as possible,” Ms. Gupta said, briefing the media after the Cabinet meeting. 

“Second, 14 CAG reports which were pending and not tabled by the earlier government will be tabled in the first Assembly session,” she said.

BJP MLA Rekha Gupta took charge as the ninth Chief Minister of Delhi at her Secretariat office in New Delhi on Thursday (February 20, 2025) and asserted that every commitment made to the people will be fulfilled by her government.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP’s top brass, including Union ministers Amit Shah, JP Nadda, and Rajnath Singh, and the chief ministers and deputy Chief Ministers of several NDA-ruled states, attended the ceremony.Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta assured that her government will fulfill its promise of providing 2500 monthly assistance to women and added that the AAP would be held accountable for its actions during its rule.

The first installment of the monthly support would be credited to eligible women’s accounts by March 8, said Ms. Gupta.
